Panel: Touring Internationally

Join us for this unique panel discussion led by World Comedy Expo Artistic Director, Saku Yanagawa. Saku will be joined by comedians from around the globe to discuss the international comedy circuit: how to get booked, where to get booked, how to adjust your material for different audiences, how to handle visas, etc… This panel will provide ample time for Q and A’s.

Panelists are Vince Acevedo, Pedja Bajović, John McCombs, Saku Yanagawa.

Vince Acevedo is a 17 year comedian veteran who has traveled across the world entertaining thousands of people. He has had the honor of entertaining the U.S Marines in South Korea and in Okinawa, Japan. Extensively toured on Norwegian and Carnival cruise lines for the past 5 years and has opened up for amazing headlining comedians such as Deon Cole, Brad Garrett, Tommy Davidson, Damon Williams, and Paul Rodriguez.

Pedja Bajović is one of the founders of the post-Yugoslav stand up comedy circuit and internationally most active comedian from the Balkans region. Since 2005 he performed in 30 different countries, had numerous TV appearances on the regional TV channels (Comedy Central Extra, HA HA, LOL) and participated in the international comedy competitions such as one in Seattle (2012) or Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World (2016). His special The Balkan Brain is currently distributed by Comedy Dynamics.

John McCombs is a 10 year veteran of comedy and a 4 year veteran of the Marine Corps. His unique perspective intertwines the absurdity of an aggressive military background with realizing his shortcomings as a man who relies on Youtube to learn how to fix things. John has performed in 15 different countries over two European tours and has opened for Michelle Wolf (Netflix, Comedy Central) Tim Meadows (SNL) and is a regular at clubs in the Chicagoland area.

Saku Yanagawa is a Japanese comedian based in Chicago who also happens to be the Artistic Director, and one of the founding members, of The World Comedy Expo. Internationally he’s performed in over 10 countries. He has headlined many comedy festivals not only in America but around the world, including Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. Saku became the finalist for several comedy competitions including in Seattle, Palm Springs, and Boston. He also appeared on “NBC’s Break Out Comedy Festival” and “StandUp NBC.” Saku was selected “Forbes 30 Under 30” as a comedian in 2021.
