Workshop: The Big Bang of Improv with Jeff Michalski

Drawing on the work of Del Close, Anne Bogart, Meisner, Spolin and others, Michalski’s workshop explores the core principles of improvisationaltechniques for performance.

Jeff Michalski has developed a unique approach to teaching improvisation, synthesizing these influences to create a new exciting style. Learn from Jeff the practice of improvisation through an exploration of movement, play and conscious awareness of each other and the setting. The skills you will learn can be applied in every style of improvisation you play as well as in life.

Because the techniques involve defining and exploring the ideas inherent in the scenes, this class is also extremely helpful to stand up comedians and writers. Actors benefit from the deconstruction of scene and character and well as transitioning through the emotional state of the character moment to moment.

This workshop is limited to 15 students.
